At Imamura Tea Plantation, we ship our teas directly from our fields in Kirishima, Kagoshima to customers around the world. This page explains our international shipping methods, rates, and customs duties.

Shipping Method
We ship via EMS (Express Mail Service) by Japan Post — a fully tracked and insured international delivery service. Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days, and we will email you the tracking number as soon as your order ships.
Orders to the United States of ¥14,000 or more are delivered by DHL Express.
Shipping Rates
Shipping is calculated automatically based on the total weight of your order, and the exact amount is shown at checkout. Orders of ¥15,000 or more ship free (excluding the United States). Prices at checkout are displayed in your local currency.

United States: orders under ¥14,000 ship via EMS for ¥4,300; orders of ¥14,000 or more ship via DHL Express for ¥7,500.

Customs Duties & Import Taxes
Product prices and shipping fees do not include customs duties, VAT/GST, or other import charges levied in the destination country. If such charges apply, they are the responsibility of the customer and are payable upon delivery. Whether and how much is charged is determined by the customs authority of your country.
For customers in the United States: We take care of all required customs procedures, including FDA Prior Notice. Japanese green tea is currently exempt from US import tariffs.
For customers in the EU: Our organically grown teas are certified under the Japanese Agricultural Standard (JAS Organic). Please note that this differs from certification under the EU Organic Regulation.
Visiting Japan? We Deliver to Your Hotel
If you are traveling in Japan, we are happy to deliver your order to your hotel. Hotel deliveries count as domestic shipping — free shipping on orders of ¥5,000 or more, with no international shipping fees or customs duties.
- Enter the hotel's address and name as the shipping address.
- Address the parcel to your reservation name + hotel name (e.g., TARO YAMADA / c/o Hotel Front Desk).
- Let us know your check-in date in the order notes or by email — we will time the delivery to your stay.
*Some hotels require advance notice to accept parcels for guests. We recommend checking with your hotel beforehand.
